Sylvester Stallone Bringing ‘Rocky IV’ Back To Theaters
It was the ultimate Cold War showdown. Well, there was that whole Cuban Missile Crisis thing. And the “Miracle on Ice.” But after that, Rocky Balboa taking on Ivan Drago in the boxing ring was history hanging in the balance. Whether you saw it the first time around or have never seen it, you’ll have a chance to witness one of America’s proudest moments on the big screen this fall.
Variety reports that Sylvester Stallone has created an ultimate director’s cut of 1985’s “Rocky IV,” called “Rocky vs. Drago,” that includes more than 40 minutes of never-before-seen footage. That’s right, even more Stallone, Dolph Lundgren (below), Talia Shire, Carl Weathers, Brigitte Nielsen, and Burt Young than before. It will be in theaters for one night only on November 11th.
Tickets are available online. Certain venues will also get to see a Q&A with Stallone, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie. And if you miss it at theaters, “Rocky V. Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut” will be available on-demand the next day, Friday, November 12th. Here’s the new trailer:
