Backstreet Boys Get Claymation Treatment For ‘Christmas In New York’ Video
The Backstreet Boys are feeling the Yuletide spirit with their new single, “Christmas In New York.” The song comes from the group’s first holiday album, A Very Backstreet Christmas, which was released on October 14th. But according to Billboard, it’s the video for “Christmas in New York” (below) that’s really getting a lot of attention.
For a good portion of the video, the Backstreet Boys look more like a vintage Rankin/Bass Christmas special, or even the California Raisins from the ’80s. We see the guys singing the holiday track while Claymation versions of themselves explore New York City at Christmastime. They visit such Big Apple landmarks as Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. Claymation Santa makes an appearance, too.
The Backstreet Boys didn’t forget the classics on their new holiday album. A Very Backstreet Christmas includes plenty of seasonal favorites, as well as two other original tracks, “Together” and “Happy Days.”
