Phil & Mel In The Morning

Weekdays 6:00AM-10:00AM

Sure, it’s only January but if you’re already dreaming about summer vacation, it’s time to start making plans. And, while the weather might be chilly now, you know we’re only a few months away from Charlotte’s oppressive heat and humidity. Here are some cool(er) U.S. cities to visit this summer:

Anchorage, AK – Hiking, biking, fishing, camping, even surfing, and daytime temperatures in the low-60s. The nearly 20 hours of daylight in the summer might be an adjustment.

Minneapolis, MN – A great mix of outdoor activities, global cuisine, a vibrant creative scene, and fun nightlife. Take in a Twins game at Target Field!

Portland, ME – Small town charm with big city restaurants and it’s on the ocean. Book a room at a cozy bed & breakfast and, between lobster rolls, browse the quaint shops.

San Francisco, CA – Food, art, music, shopping, sports, scenery, cool summer weather…the “City by the Bay” has it all. But it doesn’t come cheap. Don’t forget your jacket or your wallet.

Seattle, WA – The notorious rain makes way in summer for beautiful sunny days that typically stay in the 70s. You’ll find compelling culture in the city, and breathtaking nature just a short drive away.
