Sisu And His Unicorn Immortalized On T-Shirt To Benefit Other Dogs
Remember the heartwarming story of Sisu the dog and his purple unicorn in Duplin County, North Carolina? Here’s a quick recap:
Sisu was a stray picked up by Duplin County Animal Services in March. The 67 lb. dog had been “charged” with repeatedly attempting to steal a stuffed unicorn from a Dollar General store in Kenansville, NC. The kindly animal control officer bought the $10 toy for Sisu so he wouldn’t be lonely in lockup. Almost as soon as photos of the dog and his purple unicorn hit social media, Sisu was adopted. But the story doesn’t end there.
Southern Living reports that the Pedigree brand and Pedigree Foundation have created a limited-edition T-shirt honoring Sisu and his plush pal. The tie-dye shirt features an illustration of a dog and unicorn, captioned with “You’re my purple unicorn.”
Proceeds from the $30 shirt will go to help more dogs find their forever homes through shelter and rescue grants. On top of that, Pedigree and Dollar General are making a donation to the Duplin County Animal Shelter and Lab Rescue LRCP, where Sisu spent some time before moving into his new home. You can pre-order the shirt HERE. It will ship by the end of May.
Okay, we're definitely going to need one of these! https://t.co/P6qvDlOgBH
