‘The Simpsons’ Hit The Catwalk At Paris Fashion Week
Paris Fashion Week attendees expecting a runway show at the Theatre Du Chatelet got something a little different. And a lot more fun. According to The Guardian, fashion house Balenciaga teamed up with the creators of “The Simpsons” to produce a special ten-minute episode of the iconic sitcom. It got the glitterati giggling.
The animated short featured the residents of Springfield being whisked off to Paris and introducing new Balenciaga designs in front of fashion show fixtures. Among the celebrities who were “Simpsonized” were Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

How did this poking fun at Paris Fashion Week come about? It turns out that Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia is a lifelong fan of “The Simpsons.” He and his design team also got the Matt Groening treatment, too. Fans of Balenciaga raved about the short on Twitter. Gvasalia is also getting a lot of love for bringing some humor into the often uptight world of high fashion.
I love that, after more than thirty years on the air, “The Simpsons” are not simply resting on their laurels. The show still has a very prominent place in popular culture. Check out the Balenciaga video below:
