John Cena Signs On For ‘Wile E. Coyote’ Movie
My parents used to tell me that watching too many cartoons on TV would rot my brain. I knew better. There were a lot of life lessons to be learned from those characters, especially Wile E. Coyote. Sure, he was constantly being bested by his archnemesis, the Road Runner. But Wile E. Coyote never gave up. He was the model of persistence and is now being rewarded with his own movie.
According to Screen Rant, Warner Bros. has a live-action/CG hybrid film centered on the iconic Looney Tunes character in the works. Based on a 1990 New Yorker story by Ian Frazier, “Coyote vs Acme” is about Wile E. Coyote’s frustration with the variety of mail-ordered items he has purchased from the Acme Corporation and subsequent lawsuit. It’s being described as part courtroom drama, part family comedy.
Pro wrestler-turned-action hero John Cena has signed on for the project. The star of HBO Max’s Peacemaker will be playing the lawyer representing Acme. “Coyote vs Acme” is expected to hit theaters in July of 2023. I’ll be there. And if you’re wondering whether Wile E. Coyote has a case against Acme, here’s a look back at some of his most infamous incidents. Was it product failure or operator error?
