Sylvester Stallone Brings Superhero ‘Samaritan’ Out Of Retirement
At 76, Sylvester Stallone isn’t even close to slowing down. He has two major vehicles coming to the screen this fall. I previously wrote about Tulsa King, Sly’s fish out of water mob series for Paramount+. He is also joining the legion of superheroes that has captured the hearts, minds, and money of moviegoers for the past couple of decades.
According to People, Stallone is set to star in the new action flick Samaritan, which is based on graphic novels from Mythos Comics. The movie tells the story of a retired superhero who’s living under the radar in fictional Granite City as Mr. Smith, a mild-mannered garbage collector. Well, not so mild, it turns out.
Smith/Samaritan is coaxed back into action by his 13-year-old neighbor. Apparently, Granite City really needs some help as it has spiraled into a state of chaos. Sylvester Stallone goes full-vigilante in this movie and it looks like one hell of a ride.
Samaritan is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 26th. Amazon Prime Video dropped the first trailer this week:
