The King is coming home. If you didn’t get the chance to check out the highly-acclaimed Baz Luhrman biopic, Elvis, in theaters, you can watch it on HBO Max starting Friday, September 2nd.
The film, which opened in theaters on June 24th, tells the story of Elvis Presley’s rise to stardom and the tragic events that led to his premature death in 1977. Austin Butler stars as Elvis; Tom Hanks plays his manager, Colonel Tom Parker; and Olivia DeJonge appears as Elvis’ wife, Priscilla Presley.
According to The Wrap, Elvis marked Baz Luhrmann’s return to directing, almost a decade after his last feature film, The Great Gatsby, was released in 2013. I hope Luhrmann doesn’t wait as long to make his next movie. He has a vision and style unlike any other.
