Two Best Myrtle Beach South Carolina Restaurants For 2023 So Far

Although the year is barely underway, Yelp issued the ten best currently rated restaurants in Columbia, Greenville, Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Myrtle Beach.  The customer sourced review site compiled the list picking the top two from each of those South Carolina regions.  And, the two best Myrtle Beach South Carolina restaurants so far in the new year are Hook and Barrel and Simply Southern Smokehouse.  Hook and Barrel at 8014 N. Kings Highway serves some amazing fresh seafood.  Chefs prepare she crab soup in front of customers for a unique experience.  Also on the menu, smoked shrimp and grits, crab cakes and pan-seared scallops.  Hook and Barrel offers fresh oysters in the shell and the all familiar shrimp cocktail.  Out of more than 1100 reviews so far, the Myrtle Beach favorite scored 4.5 out of 5.

The other of the two best Myrtle Beach restaurants to make the list is Simply Southern Smokehouse on Joe White Ave.  This spot features a buffet type, make your own plate meal.  Simply Southern Smokehouse rotates daily specials that include smoked ham and roasted potatoes on Mondays.  Diners might find baked spaghetti and grilled pork chops on Wednesdays.  The restaurant scored 4.5 out of 5 according to Yelp so far in 2023.  These ratings come after more than 1100 reviews.

Restaurants making the grade from other regions range from barbeque and tacos in Columbia to raw bars and Lowcountry cooking in Charleston.  Columbia’s Midwood Smokehouse and Tacos Nayarit made the list.  In Charleston, check out Raw Oyster Bar and Magnolias.  Heading to Greenville, the top two spots are The Trappe Door and Jianna.  For Mount Pleasant, visit Page’s Okra Grill and The Obstinate Daughter, influenced by French, Italian and Spanish cuisine.  Check out The State for a full description and rating of restaurants making the list.

Two South Carolina Restaurants Make Rankings of World's 'Most Outstanding' List

The 2022 Forbes Travel Guide Star Award Winners listed two South Carolina restaurants as the most outstanding restaurants in the world. You know how good the food is in South Carolina if you have ever been there. Every time I visit the coast of SC, I go straight for the crab legs and clams.

According to a new report, two of South Carolina’s restaurants rank among the best in the world. There were 253 restaurants in South Carolina included in the rankings published on Tuesday, April 26. Forbes Travel Guide said the results were gathered after traveling around the world. You can see them and a few other united State favorites below.
