Concession Prices At The Masters Are Ridiculously Reasonable
In a world of $11 beers at football games, it’s refreshing to see what’s going on in Augusta, Georgia this week. The 2023 Masters Tournament is underway at August National Golf Club. The annual event draws golfers and fans from around the world, just as it has for decades. Between now and Sunday’s final round, the fans may have trouble remembering which decade they’re in thanks to the ridiculously reasonable concession prices that appear to be stuck in time.
When you go to a major sporting event, you expect to take out a second mortgage before hitting the concessions stand. That’s not the case at The Masters, and hasn’t been for years. According to Golf Digest, $20 is about you’ll need for a full day of food and beverages. That same $20 won’t get you nearly as far at Bank of America Stadium.
The classic concession menu items at The Masters are the egg salad sandwich and the pimento cheese sandwich. Each are still just $1.50. It has been that way for years. The priciest sandwiches at Augusta National, such as the Masters Club and Pork Bar-B-Que, are a whopping $3.00.
As far as beverages go, coffee, iced tea, soda, and bottled water will set you back $2. That’s like buying drinks from the guys who sell them at major intersections around Charlotte. Alcohol is usually the big ticket item at sporting events. At the Masters, domestic and imported beers are $5. The most expensive item on the entire menu is white wine for $6.
If you were to buy one of every concession item at The Masters, you would pay $66. How many times have you spent more than that at a ballgame or concert? And that was just parking, right? Look at the menu below. This is how it should be.
