Beloved ‘Frog And Toad’ Children’s Stories Coming To Apple TV+
A piece of my childhood is coming to television. UPI reports the classic 1970s children’s stories about Frog and Toad have been adapted as an animated series for Apple TV+.
Written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel, four Frog and Toad books were published between 1970 and 1979 and have been cherished by families every since. The show’s description reads “Frog is a frog. Toad is a toad. They have a lot in common … but they are also very different. Frog and Toad are best friends who know that the true secret to friendship is not only enjoying the things you have in common, but embracing the things that make you different.”
The animated series stars Nat Faxon (The Way Way Back, Disenchantment, The Conners) as ‘Frog’ and Kevin Michael Richardson (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Simpsons, Family Guy) as ‘Toad.’ Other characters are voiced by comedy veterans Ron Funches, Fortune Feimster, Cole Escola, Aparna Nancherla, John Hodgman, Yvette Nicole Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Tom Kenny, Selena Luna, Margaret Cho, and Betsy Sodaro.
Frog and Toad premieres Friday, April 28th on Apple TV+. The official trailer has already dropped. I feel like I’m back at Lakeville Elementary School.
