‘Monster’ Chocolate Chip Cookie Helped Put This North Carolina Bakery On A List Of Nation’s Top Spots
It’s “National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day” y’all! That’s one of my favorite made up holidays of all time. I adore cookies. And, of course lots of shops around the Carolinas offer steals and deals today in honor of it. But, where can you get a cookie that just helped a North Carolina bakery make a list for “Top Chocolate Chip Cookie Spots?” It’s none other than Villani’s Bakery in Charlotte.
Restaurant review site Yelp was at it again using their data to decide who made the ranks. They analyzed cookie comments and fed the info into formulas of volume of ratings and reviews about chocolate chip cookies. And, Villani’s Bakery on Pecan Ave. in Charlotte, North Carolina hit the spot.
Apparently, they serve a “monster” chocolate chip cookie that is to die for. And, although it just cracked the top 100 coming in at 82, Villani’s Bakery was the only spot in the state to get recognized on the list. The website describes Villani’s as a New York-Italian style bakery. Plus, their menu is pretty extensive. Villani’s serves croissants, macarons, muffins, pastries, cakes and more. There’s even pies and coffees galore.
And, customers indicate Villani’s Bakery Monster Chocolate Chip Cookie lives up to the name. Many refer to it as “shareable.” And, although the outside is quite crunchy, the inside is deliciously moist. So, it sounds like the ranking on Yelp’s “Top Chocolate Chip Cookie Spots” comes as a deserved honor.
I am always hunting the perfect cookie. I typically prefer a softer, chewier texture leaning toward almost undercooked. But, in the name of science I am always willing to take one for the team and try a new cookie! I definitely plan to visit Villani’s Bakery and try the highly acclaimed “monster” cookie.
