Here’s What Was Named The Most Unusual Small Town In North Carolina
We’ve got some great cities and towns in North Carolina. Ones that we talk about often, and I mean often. This includes the best, the most beautiful, the best place to live, the richest, etc. But this town fits into a different category. The “most unusual”. The website Alot.com recently compiled a list of the most unusual town in each state. So of course I had to see what they selected as the most unusual place in North Carolina. And what was their choice? A town called Rose Hill, North Carolina. Admittedly not one I am too familiar with.
A quick read of the description they gave made the reasoning a little more clear. If you, like me, are not familiar, Rose Hill is home to the World’s Largest Frying Pan. But that’s not all. Oh no, what’s the point of possessing the World’s Largest Frying Pan if you don’t actually use it. That’s where Rose Hill goes from perhaps quirky (there are plenty of other roadside attractions in NC- you can see those below), to unusual. According to the event’s website, “The North Carolina Poultry Jubilee is a celebration of an industry, a people, and a way of life that helps keep North Carolina economically strong and a wonderful place to live, work, and play!”
Reportedly at this event, they put to use that frying pan, however, to cook hundred of chickens. Yeah, I don’t think that is something I personally would like to witness, or eat from. But the event draws visitors from across the region every year. I’d certainly agree that this makes Rose Hill the most unusual city or at least one of the most, in North Carolina.
