Experts Say ‘Travel Tuesday’ Is The Best Time To Book Your Next Vacation
Black Friday and Cyber Monday aren’t the only days for deep discounts this month. If you love to travel and are always on the hunt for a good deal on your next vacation, get ready to save on Travel Tuesday. According to CBS News, the day after Cyber Monday is what travel experts call “the best opportunity to snag holiday travel and winter getaway deals.”
Hayley Berg, the lead economist at online travel agency Hopper, told ABC News that prices on Travel Tuesday typically drop by 30% to 60% on flights and hotels for Christmas holiday and January bookings. That’s great news for my family because we’ve been thinking about taking a post-New Year’s trip to New York City. She told CBS News that while they might not have gotten the time of day or airline they wanted, last year some travelers saved more than 80%. The key is to be flexible with your dates and destinations to get the most savings.
On this Travel Tuesday (11/28), various companies will have deals worth checking out. Frontier Airlines is offering a year-long “all you can fly” pass for under $500. Spirit Airlines has flights as low as $20 to destinations including Las Vegas, Miami, and Chicago. And Priority Pass is slashing their prices for airport lounge access by up to 30%.
Feel like taking a cruise instead of flying? Royal Caribbean is taking an extra $750 off in addition to their discounts of up to 30%, as long as you book by Tuesday. It sounds like the best strategy is to pick a handful of possible destinations and travel dates, then jump online and get to work mining for that vacation gold.
