This Town Might Be The ‘Christmas Capital Of America’
McAdenville, North Carolina is known as “Christmas Town USA,” and for good reason. With all of the home decorated in festive lights, it’s just about the prettiest place to be at this time of year. But if you truly love everything about the holiday season, you need to know about the “Christmas Capital of Texas.”
The town of Grapevine, population 50,872, sits between the much larger cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Don’t let its size fool you. Grapevine goes all out for the holiday season. And I do mean all out. This year, Grapevine put on its ten-gallon Santa hat and cranked the Christmas spirit way up. After all, everything is bigger in Texas.
According to Fox News, Grapevine packed 1,400 Christmas events into 40 days. With that many events, I don’t know how anyone has time to go to work or school. The Yuletide fun has included the Carol of the Lights festival, the North Pole Express Train, a giant outdoor ice skating rink, plus Christmas tribute concerts and Christmas movies. They even put on a “Merry & Bright Drone Show” that you have to see to believe.
Thousands of people flock to the town all dressed up in Christmas outfits and festive pajamas to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. The holiday festivities in Grapevine have become so popular over the years, tickets for some events sell out in July! The town has certainly earned the “Christmas Capital of Texas” nickname. Grapevine makes a pretty strong case for potentially being the “Christmas Capital of America,” too. No matter where you’ve been celebrating the season, Merry Christmas to you and yours!
