2 Must See College Baseball Matchups To Be Played At Charlotte’s Truist Field
If you’re sleeping on college baseball you’re missing out. Sure I’m biased in that I LOVE college sports. Seriously I’ll watch anything and everything my team participates in. But when it comes to baseball it really is fun. One of the main differences in college and Major League Baseball is the use of aluminum bats. This can tend to lead to more hits, and more runs scored. AKA a more “exciting” game. It’s not unusual to see games where 20+ runs are collectively scored in a game. Combine that with the fans and rivalries of college athletics and you’ve got a fantastic though still underrated product. And Charlotteans are in luck as this year there are 2 must-see college baseball matchups coming to Truist Field this spring.
The Carolinas historically are home to some great college baseball from many of the major universities. For the last few years, the Charlotte Knights and Truist Field have showcased those teams in some exciting matchups. My beloved NC State Wolfpack has played in a handful of those and they have been a blast to attend. Unfortunately, my Pack isn’t playing here this year but there are two exciting matchups for you to catch! Both are on Tuesday nights as they are one-off matchups and college teams typically play weekend series matchups.
Tuesday, 4/9: South Carolina vs. North Carolina
Tuesday, 5/7: Clemson vs. Charlotte
First, in April we get the battle of the Carolinas and ACC vs SEC. Then about a month later you can catch Clemson take on the hometown Charlotte. Both are sure to be entertaining nights of college baseball at Truist Field. You can get more info and purchase tickets via the Charlotte Knights. Additionally, the ACC Baseball Championship will take place at Truist Field May 21-26, 2024.
