Donald Gorske Has Been Eating Big Macs Every Day For Nearly 50 Years
So fast food is bad for you, is it? Tell that to Donald Gorske. He has eaten more than 32,000 Big Macs since 1972.
I’ve been a fan of Gorske’s since he appeared in Morgan Spurlock’s 2004 documentary about the fast food industry, Super Size Me. Back then, Donald already had some notoriety in his home state of Wisconsin for his love of “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.”
Donald Gorske has held the Guinness World Record for lifetime Big Mac consumption since 1999. UPI reports Gorske had his record updated with his latest total: 32,340. To get to that number, the surprisingly svelte Gorske said he has averaged two Big Macs a day. Now his dietary regimen in closing in on half a century.
Verifying a record like this isn’t as easy as timing a 100-meter dash. There needs to be some physical proof and no one from Guinness could have been with him every day for the past 49 years. Gorske said he keeps the packages and receipts from every burger. That sounds like it could be another world record.
By the way, how does Don Gorske manage to stay so thin despite his fast food routine? Gorske told UPI that he skips the French fries and walks approximately six miles a day.
