A Hippopotamus Eating Pumpkins Is My New Favorite Fall Tradition
If you needed a reminder to never stick your head inside of a hippopotamus’ mouth, this is it. Fiona, the world-famous hippopotamus born at the Cincinnati Zoo in 2017, put on a display of her impressive jaw power this week.
Watch below as Fiona chomps through some large, hard pumpkins as though they were grapes. The zookeepers thought it would be a fun way to celebrate National Pumpkin Day on October 26th. They were right. Listen for the crowd’s reaction and keep an eye out for the adorable baby hippo, too!
@cincinnatizoo Happy National Pumpkin Day! #halloween
