Dog And Dolphins Have A Spontaneous Playdate And It’s Amazing
When I turned 40, I made a “bucket list” of things that I wanted to do in life. Swim with the dolphins was second on my list. I’ve always loved the water and dolphins have always mesmerized me. They’re so graceful and pretty. A dog also became intrigued by them while at the beach with his owner.
Patrick is a 2 year old German Shepherd. While at the beach near Opuk Cape, Crimea, with his owner, Anastasia Vinnikova, Patrick got the thrill of his life. The video shows a small pod of dolphins making its way close to the beach to see Patrick. While the dolphins appear to be delighted by the encounter, swimming in tight circles and keeping the pupper in view, Patrick seems to be out his mind with joy. He engages in a spirited game of chase up and down the beach.
If you’re like me and you’re wondering why dogs and dolphins appear to be so interested in one another, despite being so different, there’s a reason. Scientists believe that since both are intelligent, curious animals, that when they are confronted with something they’ve never seen before, their curiosity takes over. And when they see something new and fun, the curiosity turns into a fun playtime!
Not only is this video awesome because the dog and the dolphins are excited, it’s cool how close the dolphins come to the shore. I’ve never seen dolphins swim in such shallow water. Obviously they’re enthralled by Patrick. Without question, this is one of the coolest things you’ll see this week. And watching this only makes me want to swim with the dolphins even more. Love it!
