Pat Benatar Coming To North Carolina This Spring

Fresh off of last year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Pat Benatar has announced a new tour. She and husband/longtime musical partner Neil Giraldo are hitting the road this spring.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the eight-show tour kicks off April 12th in Port Chester, NY and wraps up April 29th in Hollywood, FL. Along the way, Benatar and Giraldo will be making a stop in North Carolina for a show in Cherokee on April 21st. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 10th.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will also play the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert on March 9th, and open up for Pink for select dates of her ‘Summer Carnival’ tour. You can see all of their upcoming dates, as well as read more about Pat’s amazing life and career below.

Phil Harris is 50% of "Phil & Mel in the Afternoon" on K104.7. He has been with the station since 2013 and on the air in Charlotte since 2000. Before coming to the Queen City, Phil worked for radio stations in Pittsburgh, Austin, and Seattle. In addition to the weekly "Throwback Threesome" music video feature, Phil writes about things that matter to Charlotte sports fans and pet owners. He happens to be both.

Patricia Mae Andrzejewski did not have a straight path to success. Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, she trained as an opera singer, majored in health education, dropped out of college, and worked as a bank teller before becoming the star we know as Pat Benatar.

Pat quit her day job in 1971 after seeing a Liza Minnelli concert in Richmond, Virginia. It would be eight more years of paying dues before Benatar’s first album was released, but it was worth the wait. She was a fixture on the music charts, radio, and MTV throughout the 1980s. Pat Benatar was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

Pat Benatar is riveting in her video for “Shadows of the Night.” Literally. She plays a “Rosie the Riveter” character who dreams of flying a fighter plane in World War II. Actors Judge Reinhold and Bill Paxton also appear in it. “Love is a Battlefield” was the first music video to include scripted dialogue and features Pat with her signature ’80s hair and clothes. Benatar’s single “Invicible” was also the theme song for the 1985 movie The Legend of Billie Jean, starring Helen Slater. The video includes scenes from the film.
