You know I am crazy about my dogs! Kramer and Eddy are my babies. When it gets crazy hot outside, like it is right now, I get up early in the morning to take the pups out. When I get home, I make sure they walk on the side of the parking lot where there is shade, so they don't burn their paws. In addition, I do what most folks do to keep their pets healthy in the summer; give them lots of fresh water, make sure they eat well, give them heartworm meds, and flea and tick meds. However, I had no clue that you could get sunscreen for your dog!

According to swnsdigital, a new study of 2,000 American pet owners revealed that most go the extra mile to care for their pet. But 15% apply sunscreen on their pet. Now, I figured you couldn't put human sunscreen on animals, so I Googled 'sunscreen for dogs'. And I got lots of results!

The Spruce Pets has an article on 'The 5 Best Dog Sunscreens'. The article says that dogs are at risk as humans are if they are in the sunshine too long. They can get sunburned, which can lead to skin cancer . Kramer and Eddy don't really play outside often. When we go outside, it's usually for a quick walk and a potty break. Although, if you're dog plays outside lots or if you take your dog to the beach, you may want to consider using sunscreen.

These are the top picks from the site, and all of the sunscreens are available on Amazon. Since Amazon Prime Days are happening now, you may be able to snag a deal!

The site has reviews of all the doggy sunscreens and great descriptions that you can read here. Keep those babies safe this summer!

Best Places To Vacation With Pets In North Carolina And South Carolina

My dog, Daisy, is such a big part of our family that it's hard to board her when we travel. Don't get me wrong, that place is great, but we'd prefer to have Daisy with us. But that’s not always possible, since not all vacation destinations are pet friendly.

Motel 6, the hotel chain where pets always stay free, has come out with their list of the Top Pet Friendly Road Trip Destinations. They judged locations on things like access to dog parks, green spaces and hiking trails, plus proximity to pet stores and veterinarians, dog-friendly restaurants, patios in the area, and more.

Topping the list is Santa Monica, California, thanks to its hundreds of nearby hiking and walking trails, plus plenty of dining with open air patios that let folks bring their pets. However, you don't have to travel that far to find other pet friendly spots. Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina also rank in the top ten.
