North Carolina Police Department To The Rescue After Snake Slithers In Car
Cops are there to protect us in a variety of ways. One you may not think about, but I’m sure much appreciated, is from unwanted creatures. An officer with the Kannapolis Police Department added snake wrangler to his resume last week. A driver faced, what many, myself included, would consider a nightmare hitchhiker during a drive from Mooresville to Thursday. A snake climbed into the car and wouldn’t leave. And the driver did the only thing they knew to do- call 911. An officer was happy to respond and help the driver out. And I think we can all appreciate that someone was willing to save the day.
The Kannapolis Fire and Police shared the interaction on Facebook, and the officer, snake in hand, is all smiles. Officer Whitley found a home for the snake according to the post, though where that home is, I don’t know. The other image shows the snake hanging out of the front grill of the car. And I will now be making a lap around my car before getting in.
I never liked snakes but after a close encounter with a copperhead a few summers ago, I despise them. I want nothing to do with any of them, and they better stay as far away from me as possible if they want to continue to exist on this earth. So needless to say this is my nightmare, especially if I was somewhere I would be unable to pull over. If that snake got in the car, it’s over. I’d say new fear unlocked, but I’ve thought of this before.
The Kannapolis Police Department ended the post about the snake with the following message: “The Kannapolis Police Department urges everyone to be careful when giving rides to strangers, especially the slithery kind.” Probably best to avoid any hitchhikers.
