Normani Reveals Her Mother Has Breast Cancer
Normani has announced to fans that her mother is battling breast cancer. She shared the news in her Instagram story by reposting a photo of a rosary on social media. On the post, she wrote, “We got this mommy.”
Over the weekend, she also posted, “f— cancer” on Twitter.
Her mom, Andrea Hamilton, also posted the rosary. She captioned the photo, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I did it once and I’ll do it again! #CancerWho.”
According to Paper, Normani’s mother dealt with breast cancer when she was five. She told the outlet, ” I was really passionate about partnering with the American Cancer Society because of my personal experience. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was around five years old, and it was the scariest point in all of our lives.”
She then spoke about how the disease changed her family. “The experience definitely brought us even closer as a family. At the end of the day, we stayed strong for each other as a family and the only thing I can really say is that God kept us strong.”
“I wouldn’t be the same person and I probably wouldn’t even be in the position that I’m in, so it’s really beautiful to have her be here and witness all these beautiful things. I can’t imagine doing life without her.”
