North Carolina Town Tops The List Of Trending Towns and Cities For Thanksgiving 2023

There are two types of people on Thanksgiving. Those who travel and those to choose to stay home. I'm the latter, but considering the day before Thanksgiving is typically the busiest travel day of the year. Well, it's a popular option. But of those choosing to travel on Thanksgiving, there are again two types. Traveling to see family or traveling to a destination. We are going to look at those traveling for a destination. And it's a North Carolina town that tops the list of the trending towns for Thanksgiving. This is according to new research from HomeToGo.com. I have a good friend whose family skips the turkey and the leaves and heads to an all-inclusive in Mexico every Thanksgiving. While not my vibe I can respect it. But the beach for Turkey Day, complete with the traditional meal? I might be able to get on board. And that's just where this North Carolina town is- at the beach. HomeToGo determined that Oak Island North Carolina is trending the most of any Thanksgiving destination. The Outerbanks town has seen a 383.3% increase in searches from this time last year. The rest of the top 10 list is certainly eclectic. It features other cities like Starkville Mississippi (are they hosting the Egg Bowl this year?). Side note if you aren't familiar with the greatest name for a rivalry game in college football the Egg Bowl, you should be. Other cities on the list are Laguna Beach, CA, Knoxville, TN, Fort Pierce, FL, and Eugene, OR. So a very interesting mix of destinations. The perfect place for Thanksgiving though, is wherever family is. Do you plan to travel this holiday season? Maybe you should think about paying Oak Island a visit.
