Can We Please Have A ‘Chipuptle’ Dog Event Here In Charlotte?

If the beginning of the week stresses you out, this ‘Chipuptle’ video I saw on Instagram will make you smile! After watching this video, I’ve decided that we need to have a ‘Chipuptle’ event here in Charlotte. Doggos snacking on some tasty food as we serve them. I love it!

Randomly scrolling through Instagram, I saw this video and had to watch it twice it’s so cute! The Instagram page the video is on is called @thecedlife. Cedric is an adorable dog who is a foodie. Cedric is a Dachshund whose mom is crazy creative. I had to Google Cedric and found some more info on him on Parade Pets.

After doing some research online I found out that Cedric is way more popular than I realized and is quite the food connoisseur. This foodie pup has a mom that makes amazingly, healthy, and safe foods for her doggos and is now selling some of their dishes pre-packaged. You can order them here if you’d like to treat your pup to some of Cedric’s favorites. He even has his own Ramen!

In the ‘Chipuptle’ video, Cedric and his sibling are in line for a dog burrito/burrito bowl. Obviously, the cute name is a take on Chipotle, and as in the restaurant, the dogs go through the line and pick what they’d like. It’s adorable! How cool would it be if this was a real?

Cedric’s ‘Chipuptle’ Festival

In addition to selling some of Cedric’s favorite eats online, his mom might want to think about creating a Cedric ‘Chipuptle’ Festival. It could be a pet festival to raise funds for local rescues. Kinda like a Lalapalooza type event for dogs but without the bands. Just foods!

How wild would it be to have different booths set up as restaurants, with the names changed to reflect dogs. For instance, Wendy’s could be ‘Waggies’. The pups could order little burgers and a dog safe frosty. Pizza Hut could be ‘Pizza Pup’, Dunkin’ Donuts could be ‘Doggin’ Donuts’, and there could be a both with ‘Chicken Pup Pies’. I’m sure with more thinking I could come up with more!

Cedric not only has foods for sale, there’s also a Cedric Cookbook that you can download on his website. Cooking for dogs isn’t too complicated, but making dishes as gorgeous and creative as Cedric’s mom is a skill! I just wanna know if she’s hiring for this location. I’d work at ‘Chipuptle’ in a minute!

I’m too old to give a damn about social media influencers, but I’m all about following doggo influencers, and Cedric is my new favorite! He also has an account on TikTok. If you need some smiles, Cedric’s videos will give em to you!

 

5 Of The Nation's Top Dog Friendly Restaurants Are In North Carolina

Five of the most dog-friendly restaurants in America are in North Carolina. Listen I love dogs. I really do. And I’m on board (if your dog can handle it and is happy) for taking dogs to places like breweries. Perhaps even somewhere with an outdoor patio to eat. But I’m a little more hazy on that one. But what I saw this weekend in Blowing Rock, was two different dogs one in a stroller and the other just laying under the table, inside in a restaurant. I’m sorry the line has to be drawn somewhere. Your dog will be ok at home for an hour by themselves. These were not service animals, just dogs that were accompanying their owners to dine inside a sit-down restaurant.

I get it. When my dog was alive I did wish I could take him everywhere. He loved to go to the drive threw, the bank,  or a pet-friendly store like Petsmart. But I never took him into a general store and certainly never to a restaurant. And in all honesty, he would have been miserable at a restaurant. He hated sitting still in a new place, would have been trying to eat everyone’s food, and the heat outside would have bothered him as well. But despite my personal feelings about taking your dog out to eat, numerous people do it. This is what led Yelp to create a list of the most dog-friendly restaurants in America. And not one, not two, but 5 North Carolina restaurants made the list.

Here’s how Yelp says the list was curated: “We identified businesses in the restaurants and food categories with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “dog friendly,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning those keywords between June 1, 2020, and June 1, 2023. If a chain appeared on the list more than once, we only included the highest-rated location.
