Just as the Charlotte Knights enjoy having baseball fans bring their dogs to Truist Field for a handful of “Bark in the Ballpark” games every season, the Charlotte Checkers are inviting hockey fans to bring their pups to a “Pooch Party” at Bojangles Coliseum this month.

Charlotte Checkers fans will be allowed to bring their dogs to the game against the Providence Bruins at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26th. The annual Checkers’ Pooch Party game is part of Pet Weekend. According to the team website, the Checkers are setting aside a designated “dog-friendly area of the coliseum.”

Dogs don’t need their own ticket but you might want to have a little more space next to you. You’ll also have the option of purchasing a Checkers frisbee with your ticket. Humans will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival and to avoid concession areas during the game. I guess all that barbecue and Bojangles’ chicken could be a little too tempting.
