Life-Size Gingerbread House Is A Sight To See
I’ve always loved gingerbread houses! Years ago, my second wedding was at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. The wedding was in January, and the Inn still had their Christmas decorations up, including the gingerbread houses that were in their annual competition. It’s amazing how detailed they are! In San Francisco there’s a life-size gingerbread house and its mind blowing!
The Fairmont Hotel’s life-size gingerbread life-size house is back for 2022 for its 12th year. This thing is wild! According to SFist, the gingerbread house is 22-feet tall and has 3,300 gingerbread bricks. It took around 520 hours to make. The decor of the house has over 1,500 pounds of icing and pounds of See’s Candies.
And if you’re planning a trip to San Francisco for the holidays and have some loot, you can dine inside the house! How cool! You can book a dining experience inside the gingerbread house for up to eight guests. But it’s not cheap. Just the reservation is $300 and there’s a $1,200 minimum on food and beverage.
Although this would be a once in a lifetime experience for most of us, I think the memory would be worth the money. And if you have a birthday or anniversary coming up, this would be a great way to celebrate.
If you just want to check out the house, it’s free to visit. Kids will love it! And if you aren’t traveling to San Francisco this holiday season, you can see the beauty of the house below and here. Absolutely stunning!
