Jack Rides With Rusty Wallace
I don’t consider myself a huge NASCAR fan but let’s face it. We live in the center of NASCAR here in Charlotte with the Speedway, all the race shops, The NASCAR Hall of Fame and this is home to many drivers and their families. When going through my phone I came across this video that I took in 2015 and had forgotten that I took it but never posted it. In October 2015, MRN (Motor Racing Network) brought radio stations that carried NASCAR into Homestead Florida for a 3 day conference. Our host was NASCAR Champ Rusty Wallace who spoke to us about the sport and its future, its challenges, it’s changing audience and more.
On the final day, we were all to receive a ride with Rusty on the road course at Homestead in a souped up Shelby Mustang Pace car. About 5 people before it was my turn, the engine blew in the Shelby and after some fast thinking, they got another car so Rusty could finish taking the rest of us for a ride. I think it was a Ford Taurus. We were going faster than it seems which is why the camera is moving. It was a great experience. The next year Rusty announced his retirement and builds custom motorcycles in Mooresville with his son. A true NASCAR Champion.
